About Us

Officers and Committee

The Committee is established to protect the overarching purpose, values and principles of the Kent Foster Care Association (KFCA). These governing principles are detailed in the Constitution. You can download the ‘KFCA Constitution pdf’ from the link at the bottom of this website.

The Constitution of the KFCA requires that all Committee officers are KCC registered foster carers and are subject to annual re-election with a maximum term of 6 years.

The Committee officers are as follows:

Chair | Glenn Williamson

Treasurer | Louisa Wray

Secretary | Michelle Slater

Vice Chair | Gill Lund

Fund Raising Manager | Vacancy

Participation Officer | Esther Martin

Committee members are usually nominated in the Autumn and elected at the Annual General Meeting in the following Spring.

If you are interested in becoming an Officer and Trustee then please contact us by email ( chair@kfca.org.uk ), by phone ( 01622 693453 ), or through our Facebook page.

The Committee aims to meet formally four or five times per year, one meeting being the Annual General Meeting. The Committee may establish sub-committees, special or standing committees, which have specific aims and terms of reference and these may meet more frequently.

Examples of sub committees to be established by the KFCA include the Fund Raising Sub Committee and the Projects and Policy Sub Committee which we expect to form in the second half of 2015.

Non Committee opportunities

If you would like to be involved with the KFCA, but don’t want to be have a ‘formal’ role, then you may be interested in being a local representative within your local Support Group.

We want to make sure that the KFCA is represented across the county and is delivering maximum value to carers and their families. We are keen to welcome carers to be local representatives, who would have no time or duty obligation to ensure a two way flow of information between support group and the Committee. Please contact KFCA if you are interested in being involved.
